For
Linda.
Sister by marriage and through faith in our
Lord.
I so
admire your devotion to God and those you love.
He
has used you in mighty ways to touch the lives of others.
You
are His willing servant.
I am
sure this birthday was hard in ways that only God can truly understand,
yet I
know He gave you the strength to make it through;
for
He alone hears the deepest cry of your heart.
I
love you tons, and am always here for you.

Luke 18:31 “Then He took unto Him the
Twelve.”
I cannot be self-serving and serve God at
the same time. If I have my own motivations and goals, I will just get in the
way of what God wants me to do. I will not be able to hear or see Him in a
situation, because I will be blinded by my own desires. This does not even have
to take a selfish form, as I could be trying to help someone else. If I do not
follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, however, this will go terribly wrong. Whether
I am trying to help in a spiritual, or practical way, I must always seek the
Father first. God will not check with me about His will, it is my job to check
with Him and follow. This is what the Twelve did when they left all they knew
to follow Jesus.
I also do not have to reach any certain
benchmark in my Christian walk before God can use me, I will never be worthy, all
I need to be is willing. Chambers
writes, “You say—‘But He has been unwise to choose me, because there is nothing
in me, I am not of any value.’ That is why He chose you.” God will certainly
use the gifts He has given us, but ability is not a necessary requirement. Many
of the disciples were fishermen, yet Jesus chose them, and they boldly spread
the Gospel throughout the world. God gave each of them the ability to do so. Chambers
writes, “It is not a question of our equipment but of our poverty, not of what
we bring with us, but of what God puts into us; not a question of natural virtues
of strength of character, knowledge, and experience—all that is of no avail in
this matter.” This is why Paul wrote, “I can do everything through Christ, who
gives me strength.” (NLT)
Isn’t it wonderful to know that when we
follow God’s will, He is there right beside us every step of the way giving us
strength?

Thanks so much Lehann!! Love you too and appreciate all of your prayers and your support this week!!! So honored with what you wrote in this blog. Today at the funeral the priest spoke about what God is asking of us and how we can do anything with Him by our side. He is always with us and he was with me today as I walked this sad journey. Thank you for everything.
