Matthew 5:26 “Verily I say unto thee, Thou
shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the uttermost farthing.”
God asks me to yield to the Holy Spirit as
He uncovers my true disposition. When God is convicting me in this area, I
usually do not really like what I see. God uncovers these areas of my life
because He loves me, and wants me to grow in my walk with Him. It is the same
way with any loving earthly father. Chambers writes, “The moment you are
willing that God should alter your disposition, He is re-creating forces will begin
to work. The moment you realize God’s purpose, which is to get you rightly
related to Himself and then to your fellow men, He will tax the last limit of
the universe to help you take the right road.” Can I get an AMEN! Our heavenly
Father loves us so much. When we are being called into an altered disposition,
it is because of His profound love for us. A change to our characters can often
be painful, but can also be beautiful.
I, sadly, lost my earthly father when I was
young. He was a loving man of faith who guided and wanted the best for all of
his children. He taught us valuable lessons, even when it was difficult. I am
extremely appreciative that he raised me to fear and love God. I am also so grateful that my Heavenly Father
loves me so much that, like my earthly father, He continues to teach me even
when it isn’t easy on me. I know that when
I reach up, He will take me by the hand and lead me into the shelter of His
loving arms.
