The Force

5/4/200
Hebrews 10:19 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.”

Today is May 4th, and in recent times has been connected to the Star Wars franchise, “May the 4th be with you.” Of course, this mimics the line, “May the Force be with you.” There are certainly some themes of Christianity that can be associated with the franchise that people have discussed since it debuted in May of 1977. The two strongest thematic connections (at least for me) are how there is an almighty force that can be connected to, and the power of redemption.

Through the character of Luke, we are shown the strength of intercession by someone who seems powerless, but who gains a supernatural might by tapping into a force greater than himself. It required complete trust, focus, and submission to achieve this goal. Does any of this sound familiar?

In reality, we have an Almighty God who is the greatest force in the universe. He has given us a way to access a relationship with Him through the blood of Jesus. We gain our strength through the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word. We can be warriors!

Chambers asks, “Am I stubborn or substituted? Petted or perfect in my relationship to God? Sulky or spiritual? Determined to have my own way or determined to be identified with Him?”

I want to be identified with God always and in all ways. How about you?

May the true Force be with you.
