Acts 26:19 “I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision.”

How do I use my time: in fear and frustration, or in service to God? Do I live, as Chambers puts it, “the sixty seconds of every minute, and the sixty minutes of every hour” for God? Have I lost sight of the vision through “spiritual leakage”? Wow, what an image! Leakage is always slow, and often times unnoticed. I think it is a perfect example of how our spirits can slowly drain without us even knowing it. We, like a tire losing air, can become flat and useless. We must always wait on God, and be vigilant in our focus on Him. We can do a lot of utilitarian work for God without inspiration from Him. Chambers says, “It is at the peril of our soul’s welfare that we get caught up in practical work and miss the fulfillment of the vision.”

Right now, our world is experiencing a global threat from something microscopic. It is a viciously spreading virus that is inciting fear and paranoia all over the world. We, as believers, will be watched during this period to see how we respond. Will we react in our humanity, or with our belief? Chambers says, “Watch God’s cyclones. The only way to sow His saints is by His whirlwind. Are you going to prove an empty pod?” What will God see in me during this turbulent time? What will others see in me? Will they see the truth of faith and a focus on Jesus in my reaction, or will they see me as an empty pod? During times such as these, we must all be vigilant in not just protecting the body, but also shielding our souls, for God is ultimately in control of all. We must fall to our knees and pray, and trust our Lord in all things. Even in the darkness, He holds our hands, and leads us when we cannot see.

I do not want to be an empty pod, Dear Jesus, fill me with vision and the peace only You can give. Help me be a comfort to others.
