Holy Spirit Wisdom

12/3/2020

1 Corinthians 2:4 “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”

My purpose is not to entice others with the words, concepts, and thoughts of this world, my purpose is to speak a holy language of truth to others. I do not mean speaking in tongues, but rather the words God has given me through the Bible. When in prayer, I must – in submission to God – seek wisdom through the Holy Spirit. I must rely on God’s leading and strength and not my own. Chambers writes, “Never rely on the clearness of you exposition, but as you give your exposition see that you are relying on the Holy Spirit.”

More and more the truths within God’s Holy Word are in conflict with the precepts of the intellectual elite and political extremists. There is a lot of conversation, or even militarism and pugnaciousness, around acceptance, but not around love. In God’s word we are called to love others fiercely and forgive even our enemies; these things are fundamental to the teaching of Jesus. As a believer, I know the love and saving grace of my Lord. This IS my reality; it as real to me as breathing. Do others see this as my reality also? Am I living as an authentic disciple of Christ? It is my purpose to live out my faith and share the truth of the Gospel with others, it is not, however, my job to convert people. Chambers advises, “Rely on the certainty of God’s redemptive power, and He will create His own life in souls.” All I need to do is follow God’s will for my life, serving Him in submission and faith, so I can be used in this world as His hands and feet.
