Hebrews 13:5-6 “He hath said…so that we may
boldly say.”
“My say-so is to be built on God’s say-so.”
~ Oswald Chambers
Is my say-so based on God’s say-so? The
Bible says do not fear. This does not mean I will never experience fear, but if
I am concentrating on God’s word, I remember He will never leave or forsake me.
I have certainly faced many difficult things in my life, but I know that God is
there and His word will guide me through anything. I often wonder how people maneuver
life without this deep truth in their souls, for their world must be a far scarier
place to live.
What is bigger to me: the trials and the
battle of this world, or the One who has already overcome the world? This is a
very timely question as we live through social unrest and pandemic. It can certainly
wear us down and make us feel small and frail. However, God wants us to be
strong and courageous through the storm and gain our strength through Him; for
He is our source of love, mercy, kindness, patience, joy, and power. When our
say-so is built on God’s say-so, we know we can speak with boldness and
proclaim the good news of His word. We must, however, leave behind our own selfish
ways and let the Holy Spirit fill us up, so we can overflow as vessels of truth
and hope for a weary world.
