2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word.”
Chambers titled today’s study, “Have a
Message and Be One.” I usually don’t share the titles in this blog, but it
reminded me of something I heard this past week in Sunday School. A very wise
woman in my class grew up hearing her father say, “Be a witness for Christ and,
if necessary, use words.” Some of the other ladies had heard the saying before,
but I had not, and it struck me. I am to be the message, show it through the
way I live my life, as well as speak the truth of God’s mercy and the grace
given to us through Calvary. Does my life, as Whintley Phipps writes in Your Best Destiny, resemble, reflect,
and reveal Jesus?
In today’s culture of rampant fear and
hatred, living and speaking the truth of the Bible is certainly not easy, but
it is the single most important thing we can ever do for another. We, as
believers, need to be bold and fearless, letting God go before us in all we do
and say. Chambers says, “Let God have perfect liberty when you speak. Before
God’s message can liberate other souls, the liberation must be real in you.
Gather your material, and set it alight when you speak.”
God’s word and the saving grace of Jesus’
sacrifice are the only things that can truly liberate the soul.
2 Timothy 4: 1&2 “In the presence of
God and Of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of
His appearing and His kingdom, I give you this charge. Preach the word; be
prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage— with
great patience and careful instruction.”

Still love these. They reach into my soul and make me reevaluate my ways.
