Going Out/Clouds and Darkness.

Hebrews 11:8

How often do I "go out" into the world fully trusting God, and fully depending on Him? So much of this world presses in on every side of us trying to drown out our faith, or worse. We must turn to God's Holy Word for guidance and strength continually

Over the past few weeks, I have asked many believers, for whom I have great respect, "How do we stay the course all day every day?" No one could answer. I believe that is because it often feels so impossible. Then I read this, and it spoke to my heart. Hebrews 2:1 says, "We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away." We do not intentionally fail in our faith, but we drift. Our focus is on what we give our attention to.

What have you been giving most of your attention recently?

Chambers challenges: "You have to learn to go out of conviction, out of creeds, out of experiences, until so far as your faith is concerned, there is nothing between yourself and God."

Psalm 97:2

In my life, there have been times when scripture is clear to me, and other times when it is not. These unclear times have been like walking through a heavy mist that confuses and chills to the bone. To enter into the light, I had to learn that I needed to get out of the way, to surrender my will and ask the Holy Spirit to let me see. God's word is illuminated by the light of the Holy Spirit.

Are you open to the light of His leading?
