Spiritual Crush

Have you ever known a person that is so full of the Holy Spirit that they just exude kindness, love, peace, joy, and every other fruit of the Spirit? Every time you are in their presence they lift you up, or encourage you to find that same holy glow. I have known just a few people in my life that have this intangible – and for many unattainable – presence. I am always captivated by such lovely individuals.

Currently, my husband works with such a person. I have never met him, but I have heard him speaking to Randy on many occasions. This man, whom I only know through my husband, is one of these beautiful souls. This morning, after hearing him once again on speaker phone, I turned to Randy and told him that I had a spiritual crush on this co-worker of his. My husband laughed and understood exactly what I meant. The love and joy that comes though the phone is palpable. Oh, how I want to be like this lovely child of God!

Right now, my husband is blessed to have two men like this as co-workers, and it has made all the difference for him. I see his joy returning after working in a place of darkness for several years. What a change others’ attitudes and moods can make on our own.

This year, as I continue my journey with Jesus, I pray I will be able to gain in these spiritual gifts. I so desire to be that kind of light in the world because I have Holy Spirit power and joy bursting out of me.
