Romans 8:28 “All things work together for good to them that love God.”
This past week, I have quoted this verse to my husband many times, and here it is again. Amazing grace! We have been in that time of, as Chambers puts it, “trusted silence” where we cannot hear God’s direction for our lives clearly. We are praying, but are still in a holding pattern of sorts. In aviation, which happens to be my husband’s field, a holding pattern is when a plane needs to keep circling because the landing is not yet safe. Jesus certainly is piloting our plane, so if He is keeping us circling because it is not safe to land, we must have faith and keep trusting Him. We are certainly ready for a landing, but we want to land in the correct place when it is safe. There is a saying in aviation that goes, “any landing you can walk from is a good landing”, and we are all praying for a good landing.
Chambers writes, “God by His providence brings you into circumstances that you cannot understand at all, but the Spirit of God understands. God is bringing you into places and among people and into conditions in order that the intercession of the Spirit in you may take a particular line.” Like most things, my journey is not really about me. When I am surrendered to God’s will, He brings me into circumstances that will stretch and mold me for the good of others. If I am patient and not defiant, the Holy Spirit will guide me to exactly where I need to be, and provide me the opportunity to make my mess my message.
So, in this time of uncertainty and trusted silence, I must stay the course and focus on God. I must search His Word, pray, and be ready to disembark when our plane finally lands.
HOLDING PATTERN!!!! YES!!!! I feel it, I hate it, but I know there is a purpose in His plan. We are all where we are waiting on Him. I'm always just a little fearful I'm missing the call or the nudge. I really do well with SHAZAM moments. LOL. I will continue to circle and wait for the safe landing, holding tight to others who are doing the same. LOVE YOU LEHANN
